2024…where do we start?
This year has been an incredible year for OFP. We started January 2024 by completing one of our largest timber frame projects, The Premier Inn Hotel in York. That was the starting point of a very successful year ahead.
We have had the pleasure of working on many projects with our incredible clients, such as new homes, hotel extensions, care homes, respite centres and so many more.
Aside from our incredible projects in 2024, we also hosted some wonderful events and workshops throughout the year. We hosted a Royal Engineer visit to our factory, a number of Timber Frame Workshops for site teams, and our 22nd annual Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Charity Golf Day.
Finally, we had a very exciting announcement in October 2024 that OFP and Discovery Stairs have joined the highly regarded Chartway Partnerships Group.
In this blog, we will be highlighting our key achievements for 2024, along with key statistics and shining a spotlight on what we are most proud of.
Key Timber Frame Projects in 2024
In 2024, we built over 720+ timber frame homes plus 2 new hotel extensions, 1 new care home and 1 new respite centre. In order to achieve these results, our purpose-built factory has been hard at work. Not only does our factory host the latest technology, but we also have processes and procedures in place to ensure high-quality products every time.
We are so proud to share some of our key statistics on what our incredible team and factory have produced.
We have worked on so many projects in 2024 that it is impossible to list them all. However, several projects stand out to us.
- 88 new homes in Manston Gardens
- 44 new homes in Eastergate
- 2 new hotel extension
- 1 new care home
- 1 new respite centre
- 133 age-appropriate homes

Our Team Achievements
Along with some of the amazing projects, we have celebrated many team achievements, from anniversaries, birthdays and promotions to new team members.
Several of our team members celebrated their five-year anniversary working with OFP Timber Frame this year. James Douglas, Charles Carr, Conor Rose, and James ‘Jim’ Currie celebrated their fifth anniversary, and Rhys received a well-deserved promotion from Estimator to Business Development Manager.
We also had not 1, not 2, but 3+ new team members join our team this year, with some new team members joining us early in 2025, so watch this space.
Finally, we also worked closely with EKC Broadstairs to help deliver T-levels. As part of this, we hosted five students over several months to help them gain valuable practical experience in the workplace. One student was very dedicated and showed a lot of potential, so we were delighted to offer Molly an Apprenticeship as a Human Resources Adviser.
Our ESG Commitments
We do our very best to reuse and recycle wherever possible. This year, we optimised 3,300 cubes of timber by finger jointing offcuts, recycling where we can, and even creating pellets from sawdust, which we burn in our biomass boilers to heat our offices.
In addition to our commitment to being more sustainable in our operations, it is important to us that we give back to the community in which we work, live and enjoy.
We want to make our community a better place for the people and our team. In 2024, we made several efforts to give back to our community.
- Supporting the delivery of T-Levels at EKC Broadstairs
- Sponsorship of Ash Rugby Football Club
- Hosted our 22nd annual Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Charity Golf Day
- Open Day at EKC Broadstairs
- Royal Engineers visit
- ESG panel discussion as part of a local networking group
Improving Efficiency ✅
We are always looking for ways to serve our customers better and improve our operational efficiencies. As part of that, in 2024, we launched a brand new Resources section on our website.
In this dedicated area on the website, you can find a hub of resources, guides and brochures, available to download. This includes informative documents, including Core U-Value, Pre-Construction Timeline, Scaffold Requirements, Drilling & Notching, and so much more.
Joining the highly regarded Chartway Partnerships Group
OFP Managing Director Alastair Narraway announces, “This is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the Group’s offering to new and existing partners, while building on our commitment to sustainability and quality.”
OFP Timber Frame and Discovery Stairs are already playing a key role in Chartway’s supply chain and so it feels like a “natural progression” following years of successful collaboration on new homes projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to reinforce the joint vision of bringing sustainable, high-quality homes for everyone across South East England.
