OFP on DIY SOS

Louise Lee, of Ruskin Grove, Dartford, had her home transformed by OFP Timber Framed Homes and DIY SOS. For the past 10 years she had been living in a “tin tent” with exposed wires, metal sheets for walls with poor insulation throughout.

However, between 15th March and 24th March, OFP Timber Framed Homes built a timber frame kitchen extension – adding extra living space, allowing a scenic view of her new garden, and featuring a flat roof with parapet wall and roof light.

OFP Timber Framed Homes volunteered our services along with E&M West Design, of Bath, and Exact Carpentry of Ashford, Kent, in order to renovate the home in the quickest and most energy efficient manner possible.

The BBC1 team redesigned the bottom floor and refurbished the top floor of the two-bedroom house. It is the first time the programme, presented by Nick Knowles, has refurbished a prefab house.

Thanks to the OFP Timber Framed Homes and the BBC’s DIY SOS programme, Mrs Lee has now seen her dreams of a new home come true. OFP Timber Framed Homes liaised closely with the BBC team to ensure the work was completed within the very tight schedule and to the highest standard.
